CHRISTIAN FORMATION AT ST BARNABAS

COVID-19 Update: All study groups are currently suspended. Stay tuned for online opportunities for connection! More information is on our COVID-19 page.

PROPER STUDY

Anyone is welcome to join us on Tuesday mornings at 10:30am for Proper Study. Proper Study is an opportunity to read, study, pray and discuss the Lectionary Lessons with others. There is nothing other than your presence needed. The Lessons studied will be the lessons read for the upcoming Sundays, so it is an opportunity to prepare for each Sunday.

ADULT CONVERSATION AND STUDY
On Wednesdays at 3:30pm you may find us reading and studying a book of the Bible, engaging with a video series on the faith, or reading a book together.  It is always a thoughtful engagement with some aspect of the faith, and you would be more than welcome.

LENTEN FORUM ON THE WAY OF LOVE

Join in on “Life Transformed: The Way of Love” during Lent. We will offer this series after our 9:00 am Sunday Eucharist Service, with an intention to start at 10:30 am with the Forum each Sunday in Lent beginning Sunday March 1 to Easter Sunday, April 12.

“Life Transformed: The Way of Love in Lent”

The journey through Lent into Easter is a journey with Jesus. We are baptized into his life, self- giving, and death; then, we rise in hope to life transformed. This Lent, communities are invited to walk with Jesus in his Way of Love and into the experience of transformed life. Together, we will reflect anew on the loving actions of God as recounted in the Easter Vigil readings. Together, we will walk through the depths of salvation history into the fullness of redemption.

This set of seven Adult Forums ties the Easter Vigil readings to the seven practices of the Way of Love. Drawing on the ancient practice of setting aside Lent as a period of study and preparation for living as a Christian disciple (known as the catechumenate), the forums encourage participants to reflect on salvation history; walk toward the empty tomb; and embrace the transforming reality of love, life, and liberation. As we stand with the three women at the empty tomb, we hear God’s call to go and live that transformed reality.
